locally sourced, seasonal and hearty food, crafted and served with love from our characterful eatery in the heart of Edinburgh

Covid-19 Update

Welcome back, we missed you!
We are excited to be re-opening on Friday 17th of July but we know some of you may be hesitant about dining out. We want to reassure you that we have taken everything into consideration and implemented the right safety measures in line with Government recommendations.
Our spacious cafe and controlled seating plan ensures households can be 2 metres apart. Staff will be wearing face coverings and sanitising stations will be plentiful. We encourage you to also wear protective face coverings – although not while eating or drinking.

If you would like to book a table:

A little bit about us

Situated in Edinburgh’s Old Town, Spoon has been welcoming visitors and locals since 2008. Tucked away overlooking Nicolson street, our relaxing space is a detox from the bustling inner city.

Although we don’t like to take ourselves too seriously, we are serious when it comes to food. We strongly believe in sourcing from local suppliers and crafting a menu with seasonality at its heart: we want to show you what Scotland has to offer.

Our spacious, ‘shabby chic’ character offers a calming atmosphere to make you feel right at home. Whether you are in need of a quick but delicious meal before heading to the theatre, a comfy place to read your book, a peaceful spot to fit in a couple hours of work, or a friendly place to catch up with pals – we welcome you all.

We regret that due to our restaurant being located up a flight of stairs, it is not currently accessible for wheelchair users and for those with mobility difficulties. This is something we’re looking to rectify in the near-future.
